TP 600/E, 770/ED/X/Z - Inability to connect to some servers with Rockwell
data pumps under some phone line conditions

Applicable to World-Wide

SYMPTOM:
Under difficult line conditions, the internal ACP Modem may not always
connect to a Rockwell data pump based server. This can occur only under
certain types of phone line conditions, and may be intermittent or
nonexistent for some users. The patch below is designed to improve the
percentage of connections to these types of servers.

CONFIGURATION:

This may occur on any ThinkPad 600 or 770 series notebook with an ACP
Modem, running Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0. The
patch provided below is intended for ACP Modem versions 2.35a, 2.36, 2.50,
or 2.51. In addition, the ACP Modem V.90 Upgrade Release 2.516 is
required to be installed on your ThinkPad notebook prior to installing
this patch.
