I. Introduction
================

These diskettes contain all the programs necessary to install the
Netfinity Service Processor Manager service on systems running
Netfinity Manager (for OS/2, Windows NT, or Windows 95), or Netfinity
Services (for OS/2, Windows NT, Windows 95, or NetWare).

Service Processor Manager enables you to take advantage of
the many features of the IBM PC Server Advanced Systems Management
Adapter.

II. Known Product Limitations

The following are known product limitations which are unlikely to be
corrected in the future:

       Service Processor Manager

       A) When managing Advanced Systems Management Adapters with
early firmware levels using the current Netfinity Manager
release, multiple user ID/password combinations can be
configured, but you may encounter difficulty connecting to
the adapter using user profile entries other than entry
number one. The Advanced Systems Management Adapter
microcode should be updated to the latest level.

       B) A communication error may be encountered when updating the
service processor's RAM firmware using the Service Processor
Manager on Windows NT 4.x or Windows 95 at baud rates higher
than 9600. Set the port baud rate to 9600 or less for the
serial connection control entry used to connect to the Advanced
Systems Management Adapter to avoid a communication error on
Windows NT 4.x or Windows 95 when updating the firmware
       remotely.

Using a null modem connection with a Windows 95 system

       A) When using a null modem connection with a Windows 95
system, you must first stop the connection before
disconnecting the null modem cable. Otherwise, you may
experience what appears to be a hang in the serial
connection. This is due to the serial device driver in
Windows 95. You must reboot the system to be able to
       reuse the serial capability.

       Power off delay

       A) Any time you reset the system power the Advanced
Systems Management Adapter will reset the power off
delay value in the Configuration Settings window.
