THE VYBORG-VUOKSI LINE

On the 10th of June 1944, a crushing
attack by the Leningrad Front (commanded
by General Govorov) fell on the Finnish
IV Corps. Soviet success in this attack
in Finland caused a political crisis to
occur. As a result, the Germans gave
Finland support to help them hold the
Vyborg-Vuoksi Line, which the Finns were
currently defending. This support
included 9,000 Panzaerfaust and 5,000
Panzerschreck anti-tank weapons, a
division and a brigade of troops, and one
fighter gruppe and one Stuka gruppe. The
planes transferred immediately and on the
21st of June flew 940 sorties in support
of the Finns.

MISSION

Escort the Stukas to their target, which
are headquarters units of the 21st
Combined Arms Army. Then escort two of
the Stukas to a further rail target. Be
aware that the Soviets have a 5 to 1
advantage in aircraft here in the north.
At least two of the Stukas should survive
the mission for it to be a success.

NOTES

This is a day mission.
