SPITFIRE DOGFIGHT TRAINING

The Spitfire Mk V came into service in
March 1941. The "C" designation meant
that the "universal" C wing was used,
which could house either 8 x .303
Browning machineguns (300 rpg), 4 x
Hispano 20mm cannon, or 2 cannon and 4
machineguns. It could carry a droptank
if necessary. SPECS: Top speed 374 mph
at 13,000 feet, 332 mph at sea level,
ceiling 35,500 feet, range 470 miles. It
was hard to distinguish from the Mk IX,
which came into service in 1942.

              YOUR MISSION

You begin this mission in prime firing
position behind a pair of Bf 109s, but
that opportunity won't last for long.
Down the first pair quickly and you'll
be in good shape when the pair of
FW 190s arrives. During the dogfight,
make use of the view keys on your
keyboard to look around and keep track
of the enemy planes. Using the high
angle views, you'll be able to maintain
visual contact with any aircraft you
choose while maneuvering to gain firing
position.

Your Spitfire has unlimited ammunition.
