                                SWOTL 1946

    NOTE TO USER:

YOU MAY NOTICE THAT THE AIRCRAFT INCLUDED WITH THIS MODULE
IN THE \AC DIRECTORY ARE NAMED BY THEIR NAME IN .SPC FILES.
NOT TO WORRY, A COPY OF EACH IN .EXP FORMAT IS PROVIDED FOR
USE WITH SWOTL MANAGER. DO NOT RENAME THE AIRCRAFT FILES IN
THE \AC DIRECTORY AND MAKE SURE THAT THE UPDATED SPECS.SPC
FILES IS ALSO LOCATED IN THE SWOTL\AC DIRECTORY.

    INSTALLING SWOTL 1946:

If you received an uncompressed copy of SWOTL 1946 all you need
to do is insert the disk in the proper drive and type:

                        INSTALL A: C:
            (Substitute drive letters if necessary)

If SWOTL is in a directory other than \SWOTL or is in a
subdirectory (Ex. \GAMES\SWOTL) then you would type:

                        INSTALL A: C:\GAMES
(Substitute drive letters and path names if necessary)

The install batch program will take care of baking up and
copying the necessary files to your hard disk. All aircraft
files will be backed up to *.ORI files. All other files will be
    backed up to *.BAK files.

THIS IS A FULLY AUTOMATED INSTALL. ALL YOU SHOULD HAVE TO DO
    AFTERWARDS IS START THE GAME.

IF YOU RECEIVED A COMPRESSED/ZIPPED COPY OF SWOTL 1946:

Since this will be the most likely form that you will get SWOTL
1946 in, the compressed files should be seperated by directory,
then combined into one big compressed file. The individual .ZIP,
.ARJ, or other form of compressed file should be titled by its
    directory name.

EX: SWOTL.ZIP gets uncompressed to C:\SWOTL
        AC.ZIP to C:\SWOTL\AC
        And so on...

I strongly suggest that you uncompress the files to either a
floppy disk or a seperate temporary directory so that you can
    use the install program provided.

NOTE TO ANYONE THAT WISHES TO COMPRESS THIS MOD FOR UPLOADING
    PURPOSES:

Please, for simplicity's sake, follow the guidelines for
compressing the files that I listed above. It will make the
installation process much easier for those who have only a vauge
    understanding of DOS. Thank you.

Well, that about covers installing SWOTL 1946. If you have any
problems at all, please contact me.

    ABOUT THE MOD.

SWOTL 1946 is a 'What If...' module. I based the aircraft on
what I think would have happened technologicaly and militarily
if Germany had done some things differently in around 1943-44.
Most of the aircraft will have strong historical ties, in fact
some are just impoved versions of the actual plane. There are
one or two totally fictional planes, however. I just couldn't
resist. <G> My main goal with this module was to bring both
sides, Allied and German, up to the same level. From there on,
it's all the skill of the pilot.

One plane, however, does have an extreme weaponry advantage.
It is the B-29. While it may be nothing like the real thing, you
will find out quickly how dangerous it is. It was developed as
the U.S.'s final attempt to deploy a bomber that needed no
escort. I think they were successful, but in TOD's it will still
have an escort, most of the time at least.
