                        Using the HotKey

Although the HotKey can be used with First Choice, there are two
problems with doing so. The most glaring of these is that First
Choice does not issue the correct page break commands so that a
multi-page document will be interpreted as one page separated by
spaces. Faxes of one page or less are unaffected.

The second problem is that our HotKey program (HKEYSEND) that is
supposed to run automatically after you exit to DOS is instead
executed from within the First Choice program, where it appears
in the document and does nothing. To prevent this, you should, at
a DOS prompt, type the following:

                           HKEYMODE /M

You will now have to enter the HKEYSEND command after leaving
First Choice or any other program in which you use the HotKey.
(See Appendix D in the Complete Communicator manual for more
information.)

                        Printing to Disk

When printing to disk using First Choice all character formatting
codes (bold, underline, italic, etc.) are removed from the
document. Paragraph formatting (center, left justify, right
justify, etc.) is retained.

To print to disk using First Choice, do the following:

Touch F4 to print.

When it shows you LPT1, you need to specify a file name instead:

Name the file. For ease of use you should have First Choice place
the print file in the Complete Communicator (C:\CC) directory and
the file should also have a .PRN extension (example:
C:\CC\FAXFILE.PRN).

After printing to disk you can go directly to The Complete
Communicator's Send Faxes screen, enter the filename (example:
C:\CC\FAXFILE.PRN) and CCOM will automatically convert and send
the file.
