What's New in version 2.63b?
============================

Welcome to the latest program update!

Changes:
--------
* The new shortcut Shift+F3 is similar to the
  Search Again function but reverses the
  search direction.
* The Clipbook and Document Selector tool
  buttons are now shown pressed when these
  features are active.
* Double-clicking on the hint line in the
  status bar selects all the text in the
  current document.

Bug fixes:
----------
* Under certain circumstances, using Replace
  All in All Documents did not find all
  occurences of the searched text. The problem
  is now fixed.
* The docked Clipbook matched the document
  color setting but not the text color. Now
  the Clipbook text color correctly matches
  the document text color.

What's New in version 2.63a?
============================

Changes:
--------
* When you open a file from a floppy disk,
  the save icon remains enabled even when
  the document is not modified.
* You can now mix date filters and user prompts
  within a Clipbook item.
* The Clipbook syntax to specify the current
  document name with its extension is now "^**"
  instead of "^&". The old syntax still works
  with executable Clipbook items to preserve
  compatibility with older templates.
* Clipbook prompts that use the combo box
  feature can now use a different text in
  the list from what will actually be used
  in the Clipbook item (see help file for
  more details).

Bug fixes:
----------
* If a Clipbook date filter was not ended
  correctly with the "^]" syntax, the program
  could enter into a never ending loop when
  such an item was pasted. This no longer
  happens.

What's New in version 2.63?
===========================

Changes:
--------
* The printer dialog box now gives you a choice
  to print odd or even pages (Useful for duplex
  printing).
* Toolbar properties now let you change the
  font for button captions.
* The "Characters to HTML" command no longer
  converts tag characters (<,>,").
* The "Paste New" command now has a shortcut
  key: Ctrl+Shift+V
* Clipbook functionality has been further
  extended with new syntax elements (please
  check the help file for more details):
  + You can now specify document names without
    an extension by using "^*"
  + Clipbook items using the combo box to
    prompt for user input can select a default
    list item by preceeding it with an
    underscore character "_"
  + A Clipbook item can now launch multiple
    programs (a bit like a batch file). Each
    command must be placed on a separate line.
    Use "^!PROMPT" between commands to show
    a prompt dialog box before the next
    command is executed or use "^!WAIT" to
    pause execution until the previously
    launched program has been closed.
  + If you want to duplicate a user's input
    within a Clipbook item, just reuse the
    same prompt at the appropriate place. The
    user will not be prompted again, but his
    initial answer will be used.

Bug fixes:
--------
* When the option "Directory Tracking" is
  turned off, the editor forgot to change
  the default directory according to the
  last opened directory.

What's New in version 2.62b?
============================

Changes:
--------
* When the Clipbook is used as a shorthand glossary,
  you no longer need to type the full header of the
  item you want to paste. Just type enough text so
  that the header you want to use is the first one
  in the list that matches your input.
* Files that have the Read-Only attribute set are
  now opened as Read-Only documents. The new command
  "Read-Only" in the Document menu lets you toggle the
  document's Read-Only status.
* Disk access to documents stored on a floppy disk has
  been significantly reduced. Editing such documents
  is now much faster.

Bug fixes:
--------
* When documents were saved, the file's Archive
  attribute was not set.
* Files that had the Read-Only attribute set but
  not the Archive attribute could not be opened. The
  editor would incorrectly display a message saying
  the file was locked by another application.
* Files that are locked by other applications can
  now be opened by the editor!
* The Quick-Close button (x button on right side of
  toolbar) should respond better to mouse clicks.

What's New in version 2.62a?
============================

Changes:
--------
* Updated the FAQ page in the help file (rev. a).
* Now uses the standard Font dialog box to enable the
  use of the script option and improve compatibility
  with font aliases (benefits mainly Mini NoteTab).
* When you close documents that are listed in the
  Favorites menu, their name is not added to the
  Reopen list in the File menu.
* Forgot to mention in an earlier update that
  comments within Clipbook items are now possible
  (see help file for details).

Bug fixes:
--------
* The UNIX option in the preferences dialog was not
  properly remembered and did not work correctly
  with documents using the default settings. Fixed
  in revision a.
* The "Reload" question sometimes appeared twice. Fixed
  in revision a.
* Under certain conditions, the Clipbook position and
  visibility was not correctly remembered between
  sessions. This has now been fixed.
* Under similar conditions, closing the editor when the
  Clipbook was not visible would cause an error message
  to appear. This has now been fixed.
* When Clipbook was docked on right side and Window was
  resized, the Clipbook changed width instead of the
  document. Problem fixed.
* Printer header could overlap document text if top
  margin was small. Problem fixed (rev. a).
* Forgot to mention in earlier update that tabulator
  settings are now taken into account when printing.

What's New in version 2.61?
===========================

Changes:
--------
* Toggling between Clipbook templates is now done with
  the Alt+x key instead of Ctrl+x (x is a number between
  0 and 9).
* Changed the font for the Clipbook-item editor to
  Courier New. The word wrap setting is now remembered
  as long as the Clipbook is open.
* Added more FAQ items to the help file.

Bug fixes:
----------
* Search Again button now correctly becomes enabled
  when this procedure is available.
* Numbering of new documents was sometimes incorrect.
  This has been fixed.
* Corrected a problem when the "Paste Board" feature
  was used while the editor was minimized to the
  system tray.
* Expand Word feature now works better with wrappable
  Clipbook items.
* Fixed several other minor glitches.

What's New in version 2.6?
==========================

Changes:
--------
* Added fully configurable toolbar using the MS-Internet
  Explorer style buttons (thanks to Fabrice Deville for
  the TExplorerButton component). An option also lets you
  use standard buttons if you prefer them.
* Clipbook can now be docked on left or right side of the
  document frame (32-bit version). See menu
  View | Clipbook Properties.
* Option to change the font of the Clipbook list box
  (32-bit version). See menu View | Clipbook Properties.
* Option to wrap toolbar buttons.
* Tab and status bar now have Windows 95 look
  (32-bit version).
* Improved handling of long file names through
  command-line parameter (32-bit version).
* Added "Use as Paste Board" command in Document menu.
  When you enable this option, the current document
  will append all text that you cut or copy to the
  Clipboard - from any application running under Windows.
  Note that only one document at a time can act as a
  Paste Board.
* Reordered some of the menus.
* Added "Undo after Save" option in Preferences.
* The last used directory where new documents are saved
  is remembered between sessions.
* The Expand Word function is no longer strictly case
  sensitive.
* Improved the pasting of Clipbook items. If you insert
  a "wrappable" item when no text is selected, the caret
  is placed between the two sides. For example, adding
  the Bold HTML tag will place the caret as follows:
  <B>CARET</B>.
* New commands in the shortcut menu of the Clipbook
  window let you easily edit or add new Clipbook items.
* 16-bit Mini NoteTab: before, you could not wrap Clipbook
  items around selected text that was larger than 255
  characters minus the length of the Clipbook item. Now,
  the selected text can be any size.

Bug fixes:
----------
* The Expand Word function now respects date filters and
  user input commands.
* The Capitalize command now treats words with
  apostrophes correctly.
* Directories should now correctly display as long names.
* Files using the Hidden or System attribute now keep
  their attribute when you save them.
* When a Clipbook template was modified through the
  Clipbook window and a new template was picked from
  the combo box, a GPF would occur after a moment of
  inactivity. This has now been fixed.
* 16-bit Mini NotePad: Fixed invisible caret problem when
  program has just been launched.
* Printer: Page numbers, headers and footers are now
  positioned with respect to the configured margins
  instead of the page margin boundaries.
* Fixed several other minor glitches.

What's New in version 2.51?
===========================

Changes:
--------
* Added Favorites menu. Note that the menu only displays
  the file name but you can see the full name (file and
  path) in the status bar.
* Added "Printing Properties" command in View menu.
* Added MAPI compliant E-mail Send capability
 (Send command in File menu). MAPI is an acronym for
  the Messaging Application Programming Interface.
  -> only 32-bit version
* Removed glyphs from dialog buttons (users did not
  seem to like them).
* Fixed several minor glitches.

What's New in version 2.5?
==========================

Changes:
--------
* New code for Clipbook items that will prompt the
  user for specified input before it is pasted in
  the document. For example, the user can be requested
  to indicated a font size before such a tag is pasted.
  See the help file for more information.
* New options in Preferences dialog box to enable:
  directory tracking, multiple instances, choice of
  backup extension, loading of files with non-text
  characters.

Bug fixes:
----------
* Searching would not always operate correctly when
  text other than the searched item was selected.
* If several date filters were defined within a
  Clipbook item, only the first one was converted.
* Several other minor bugs have also been fixed.

What's New in version 2.4a?
===========================

Changes:
--------
* Automatic scrolling for hands-free reading of
  book-length documents (under Tools / Auto Scroll).
* Filter to strip all HTML tags from document (under
  Edit / Strip HTML Tags).
* A "jump to line" command which is available by
  double-clicking on the caret-position pane in the
  status bar.
* A Print All command available in the File menu.
* Open a local file by placing the caret on its name
  in a document and pressing the F7 key (or through the
  menu: Document / Open Selected File).
* Toggle Clipbook template by pressing the Control key
  and a number from 1 to 0 (0 = 10); the number
  corresponds to the template's position in the
  Clipbook's combo box.
* Modified toolbar to use standard Microsoft icons and
  added buttons for the Clipboard functions (Cut/Copy/
  Paste).
* New Preferences option to disable the splash screen.
* When "Auto Load Files" option is used, files that
  no longer exist are now ignored.
* You can now insert a page break by pressing
  Ctrl+Enter.
* Status bar shows size and number of lines in current
  document (when it is not in modified state).
* "Favorite Files" undocumented feature: you can now
  specify other "Favorite Files" list names by clicking
  on the New button in the dialog box, then typing a
  colon character (:) followed by the list's name. For
  example:
     :Favorite
  Once you have created such an item, double-clicking
  on it will open all the files in that list.

Bug fixes:
----------
* (revision a) Added tool tips to the new clipboard
  buttons.
* Doing a global replace when both Find and Replace
  texts are identical (used for example to change case)
  resulted in a never ending loop.
* Using the Expand Word function to insert text with a
  date/time filter did not convert the filter.
* View in Browser command now lets you view any type
  of document.
* Changing page orientation through the Printer Setup
  command was not taken into account.
* Several other minor bugs have also been fixed.

What's New in version 2.3?
==========================

Changes:
--------
* The Favorite Files dialog box now also accepts
  directory names. When you add a directory name
  to the list, make sure it ends with a backslash
  "\" (otherwise it will be interpreted as a file
  name). When you open a directory item, the File
  Open dialog box is displayed pointing to the
  selected directory.
* The ruler adds a slightly longer tick mark every
  fifth position when you use the inches or character
  option.
* Added a new template for HTML color codes.

Bug fixes:
----------
* All dialogs should now be sized correctly on
  systems configured to use large fonts for the
  screen display.
* Minor interface inconsistencies have been fixed.

What's New in version 2.22?
===========================

Changes:
--------
* Detects when another application changes a
  document and prompts to reload it.
* Clipbook has new functionality. It can now be used
  to launch other programs, open current document in
  its associated application, open current document
  in specified program, open URLs. See help file for
  details and sample template LAUNCH.CLB.
* Added a ruler with measurements in characters,
  inches, and millimeters. Click on it to toggle
  between the different units. When you place the
  mouse cursor over the ruler, the measurement at
  that position is indicated in the hint bar.
* Tab alignment is more accurate.
* Enlarged some of the dialogs to improve appearence
  on systems using large fonts.
* Fixed several minor bugs.

What's New in version 2.21?
===========================

Changes:
--------
* Can be executed from a CD-Rom or a write-protected
  disk. When executed from a CD-Rom, the editor's
  configuration files are saved in the Windows
  folder (directory).
* Added the Spaces commands under the Edit menu. These
  new commands will change each group of multiple
  blank spaces (from selected text of the whole
  document) to a single space or tab character.

What's New in version 2.02?
===========================

Bug fixes:
----------
* Backup files did not reflect the name of the
  original copy. Problem fixed.
* When printing several pages, page numbers, headers
  and footers did not appear on the last page. Problem
  fixed.
* Several other minor bugs also fixed.

Changes:
--------
* The Line functions now treat a word-wrapped line
  as a single line.
* You can now save files in UNIX format (all carriage
  return / line-feed pair are converted to LF). To
  enable this feature for a document, set the Unix
  Format option in the Document Properties dialog.
* Documents now support multiple tab-stop settings
  and units can be defined in inches, centimeters,
  or pixels. Each value must be separated by a semi-
  colon (;).
* Clipbook now accepts date/time filters. Use ^[ and
  ^] to delimit the filter element of the Clipbook
  text.
* Clipbook can now enclose selected text with content
  of Clipbook item. The code ^& indicates where to
  place the selected document text. Pasting a Clipbook
  item with this code in the text will insert the
  highlighted text at the position of the ^& code
  instead of overwriting it. This is particularly
  useful when producing HTML documents. For example,
  if you have defined a Clipbook item under the title
  Italic:   <I>^&</I>
  Selecting a word in your document and then double-
  clicking on the Italic item in the Clipbook will
  surround the word with the italic tags:
  <I>word</I>
* On some systems, depending on screen resolution,
  dialogs boxes may not display correctly (dialog
  elements don't all fit in the window). If this
  is the case on your system, add the following
  line in the program's INI file under the [Options]
  section:
                 ScaleDialogs=1
  I have not tested this option yet, so I am not
  absolutely sure the dialogs will display better.
  Feedback on this issue would be much appreciated!

What's New in version 2.01a?
============================

Bug fixes:
----------
* After printing one line, the previous update
  displayed a GPF message and aborted the print
  job. This bug has now been fixed.

Changes:
--------
* When you open the Find and Replace dialog boxes,
  selected text up to 255 characters long will be
  placed in the Find field. Before, the limit was
  200 characters.
* The Colors dialog box now also displays the
  Define Custom Colors section.

What's New in version 2.01?
===========================

Bug fixes:
----------
* This update fixes the faulty search message that
  was displayed in Super NoteTab version 2.0. You
  can now also search backwards;
* Several faults in the print procedure have been
  fixed;
* the Favorites dialog box now lets you edit the list
  correctly;
* a double-click on the Clipbook pastes an item in the
  editor and leaves the focus in the document;
* When the program was configured to use the registry,
  invoking the browser would execute a new copy each
  time instead of using the open copy. This has now
  been fixed.

Changes:
--------
* Mini Notepad has been renamed Mini NoteTab to better
  indentify its link with Super NoteTab;
* dialog boxes have been resized to accomodate displays
  using large fonts;
* the Document Selector now indicates the number of
  open documents;
* the tool bar now has a word wrap button;
* the Find and replace dialogs now automatically
  convert special characters in pasted text to their
  respective search tokens. Dialogs can now be resized
  horizontally;
* more information has been added to the help file;
* three new commands have been added under the
  Edit|Lines menu:
  - "Join Lines" converts multiple lines into a single
    one;
  - "Split Lines" converts a word wrapped line (or
    lines larger than the editor window into multiple
    lines.
  - "Adjust Line Breaks" is useful for adjusting all
    line breaks in the selected text or document to
    true CR/LF sequences. The command changes any CR
    characters not followed by a LF and any LF
    characters not preceded by a CR into CR/LF pairs.
    It also converts LF/CR pairs to CR/LF pairs. The
    LF/CR pair is common in Unix text files.

What's New in version 2.0?
==========================

Many features have been significantly improved and new
ones added. The most original and useful is the
Clipbook window (you'll find the command under the
Tools menu). The editor is now web enabled, which
means it can tell a browser to open a link or one
of its documents. Printing works much better and a
new dialog box lets you configure the size of margins,
headers, footers, etc. A number of bugs that were
discovered in the earlier versions have been fixed.

You will find more details on these new features
in the help file.

As a result of the many changes made to the program,
most settings that were saved by earlier versions
are not restored by this new version. As a result,
you will have to reset your program preferences and
document properties.

Another important change is that Favorite Files lists
must now be stored in the same folder (directory) as
the program and have the extension FVR.

Hope you'll find these new features useful!
