LP 400  (260-2888)            Driver Emulations        Faxback Doc. # 4061

Loading the Printer Driver:

Most software lets you specify printing information. Special files, called
printer drivers, are provided with the software. A printer driver tells the
computer what information to send to the printer.

Follow the instructions for each application you use to configure the
application for the HP LaserJet IIP printer. See the user's manual for each
application.

If you software does not support the HP LaserJet IIP emulation mode, load
one of the following printer drivers.

* HP LaserJet Series II
* HP LaserJet Plus
* HP LaserJet

Editing your AUTOEXEC.BAT:

The printer's buffer holds information the printer has not yet printed.
When the buffer is full, the printer sends a busy signal to the computer.
This might cause some software to display an error message such as Printer
Not Ready.

To avoid this, we suggest you use your word processor or DOS text editor to
enter the following line in your computer's autoexec.bat file:

    mode lpt1:,,p
