DMP 130 (260-1280) Selftest Faxback Doc. # 4519

The DMP 130 has a built-in, self-test feature which lets you check the
print quality and general printer operation before you connect the Printer
to your computer. This is a good time to check that the print head is
adjusted properly (printing is neither too faint nor smudged) and the paper
is feeding smoothly.

BEFORE running the self-test, be sure to load the DMP 130 with 10-inch wide
paper since the test prints from one end of the platen to the other.
Printing on the platen can shorten the lives of both the platen and the
print head.

TO RUN THE SELF-TEST:

1. Plug the Printer into an AC power outlet.

2. Press and hold either the LINE FEED switch or NLQ switch (see Operator
   Controls).

3. Set the POWER switch to ON. Starting with the "music" of the internal
buzzer, the Printer will begin printing rolling ASCII 96 characters after
   the version of the ROM.

IF YOU press LINE FEED, the self-test is performed in the standard font.
The correspondence quality font is used during the test when the NLQ
   switch is pressed.

PRINTING WILL continue until you press the ON/OFF LINE switch (or paper
   end is detected).
