PERFORMING A SELF-TEST

The DMP-2120 has a built-in self-test feature to check printing quality and
general printer operation before you begin using it.

The self-test prints the currently selected options, the revision lever of
the printer's firmware, and then a test pattern to check the printer's
performance.

STARTING THE SELF-TEST

Start the self-test by turning on power while holding down the [FUNCTION]
switch.

To perform the self-test after the printer is powered-up:

1. In ON-LINE:READY mode, press [SETUP] while pressing [ALT]. When the dis-
play changes to SETUP MODE, release the buttons. The display shows FUNCTN:-
STYLE.

2. Press the [FUNCTION] button three times to advance the display to
FUNCTN:SELFTST.

3. Start printing the self-test print pattern by pressing the [SELECT] but-
ton. The display shows SELF TEST PRINT.

STOPPING THE SELF-TEST

Stop the self-test by pressing either the [ITEM] or [SELECT] switch. The
display then shows PAUSE.

Restart the self-test by pressing the [SELECT] button again.

Stop the self-test by turning off power or by pressing the [EXIT] button.
Printing stops, and the display shows ON-LINE:READY.
