Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer (630-0869) Installation Faxback Doc. # 6793

Setting the Temperature Scale

Set the C/F switch on the back of the thermometer to either Celsius (C) or
Fahrenheit (F). Then press RESET.

Choosing Mounting Locations

Choose locations for mounting the thermometer and the outdoor sensor that
are within 10 feet of each other and that will allow you to easily route
the outdoor sensor's cord to the thermometer. The most common way to
route the outdoor sensor's cord to the thermometer is through a window
sill. Avoid placing the sensor's cord where it could be pinched or cut.

You can either mount the thermometer on a wall, or you can simply use the
stand on the back of the thermometer. Lift the stand away from the
thermometer and set it on a flat surface for easy viewing.

Caution: Keep the thermometer and sensor away from sources of heat or
cold such as stoves, heating and air conditioning vents,
          radiators, and direct sunlight.

Wall Mounting the Thermometer

1. To mount the thermometer, obtain a screw with a head which fits the
keyhole slot on the back of the thermometer.

2. Thread the screw into the wall at the location you chose for the
thermometer, until the head extends 1/8 inch from the wall.

3. Place the keyhole slot on the back of the thermometer over the screw,
and slide down the thermometer until it locks into place.

Mounting the Outdoor Sensor

1. Drive a nail or screw into the outdoor location you chose for the
    sensor.

2. Hang the outdoor sensor's attached loop on the nail/screw.
