PLAYING A CASSETTE TAPE

NOTE: We recommend C-30, C-60 and C-90 tapes. Avoid using C-120 tapes
      which are too thin and can easily tangle up in the tape mechanism.

1.  Turn on the system, then press TAPE/CD/TUNE to the in position to
    select the cassette deck.

2.  Open either cassette compartment by pressing STOP/EJECT on the
    appropriate Deck, 1 or 2.

3.  Load the cassette with the open end facing down and the full reel on
    the left. Gently close the cassette compartment door.

4.  Press PLAY to play the side of the cassette tape that is facing you.

    Press PAUSE to temporarily stop the playback. Press PAUSE again to re-
    sume playback.

5.  Press (or press and hold) VOLUME /\ or \/ to adjust the volume.

6.  Adjust BALANCE until the sound comes equally from the left and right
    speakers.

7.  Press E-BASS for enhanced bass effects.

8.  Adjust the 5-Band Equalizer as desired. (See "Using the 5-Band
    Equalizer.")

9.  To stop the tape any time during playback, press STOP/EJECT.

FAST-FORWARDING AND REWINDING THE TAPE

To fast-forward or rewind the cassette tape, press FAST-F or REWIND. To
stop fast forwarding or rewinding, press STOP/EJECT. FAST-F or REWIND
stops automatically at the end of the tape.

USING CONSECUTIVE PLAY

You can load two cassette tapes and then play one side of each.

1.  Load a cassette tape in each tape compartment. Then, close the
    compartment doors.

2.  On Deck 2, press PLAY. Deck 2 begins to play the tape.

3.  On Deck 1, press PAUSE, then PLAY.

When Deck 2 plays to the end of the tape, it stops. Then, the tape in Deck
1 starts to play.

To stop consecutive play before it automatically stops, press both deck's
STOP/EJECT buttons any time during playback.
