When installing DB2 Universal Database V5.2 for HP-10 you may find that
NetQuestion, the HTML search facility that comes with DB2 product
documentation, cannot be installed from the product CD-ROM.
-
In this case you must install NetQuestion manually. Note that you must
be root to install NetQuestion.
-
1. Copy the entire /NetQ directory from the installation CD-ROM to your
local hard drive. After copying is finished you should have
the following files in your local /NetQ/hpux10 directory: IMNSearch,
IMNSearchB, IMNpkgadd, IMNpkgaddB, imnbinstall and imninstall.
-
2. Type imninstall <enter> to start the installation script. Follow
the on-screen directions to install either the SBCS search engine
alone or the SBCS and DBCS search engines together.
-
3. If imninstall returns an error stating "swcopy failed, see manual
pages for swcopy", it is possible that some other file systems
completely unrelated to DB2 have failed to mount on the system. In
this case, you must (as root) edit IMNpkgadd by adding the option
    -x mount_all_filesystems=false
to each occurrence of swcopy, swremove or swinstall.
-
The imninstall script will also return errors related to "swcopy"
or "swinstall" if insufficient disk space is available where /var is
mounted. You will need a minimum 17 MB of disk space to install
the SBCS search engine and 47 MB to install the SBCS and DBCS engines
together.
-
If these disk space requirements are met you may have an incompatible
version of swcopy or swinstall. Check that your operating system
version matches the system requirements.
