Jun Sun,

I have a Linksys WPC11 V.1 PCMCIA card with - from what I can recall before
flashing - 0.3.X stationary firmware. Note: Linksys tech support told me
that it is a V.1 WPC11 if and only if the stickers on the card do not any
version of the card. My laptop is running Debian with 2.6.8 kernel. Dmesg
output showed

wifi0: NIC: id=0x8002 v1.0.0
wifi0: PRI: id=0x15 v0.3.0

According to your information, since my NIC id is 0x8002, the latest primary
firmware is 0.3.0. Spawning from interest in "packet injection," I looked
into flashing my stationary firmware. My roommate successfully flashed the
stationary firmware using the provided instructions to 1.7.1 using
s1010701.hex. Another dmesg showed that the stationary firmware was properly
flashed to 1.7.1. However, from the README in the Aircrack tools, firmware
1.7.1 does not work so well and 1.5.6 is recommended. I successfully flashed
the stationary firmware to 1.5.6 using s1010506.hex. The current dmesg shows

wifi0: NIC: id=0x8002 v1.0.0
wifi0: PRI: id=0x15 v0.3.0
wifi0: STA: id=0x1f v1.5.6

So I am confirming that the firmware indicated for ID 8003 works with ID
8002, as far as I can tell. Thanks for the wonderful information on flashing
prism 2 devices.
