Subject: Success! USB DLINK DWL-120 (DWL-120d)

Hi Jun,

Thank you so much for your page. I have just upgraded the firmware in my
wireless adaptor and (I think) reliability of the link has just improved
massively.

To answer your questions in the order laid out:

a) USB card

b) D-LINK DWL-120. For those who know, there are several models. This
was a DWL-120d which is (I believe) a prism 2.5 based adaptor.

c) nic 0x8010

d) Old versions (from my kernel log file) using linux-wlan-ng
ident: nic h/w: id=0x8010 1.0.0
ident: pri f/w: id=0x15 1.0.8
ident: sta f/w: id=0x1f 1.3.5
These are as supplied on the (now three years old?) card from DLink.

e) New versions
nic h/w: id=0x8010 1.0.0
ident: pri f/w: id=0x15 1.1.4
ident: sta f/w: id=0x1f 1.8.4

f) Files
- used winupdate-0-7-0.exe as linked to from your page
- used files found in
http://www.netgate.com/support/prism_firmware/Latest-prism.tar.bz2
- specifically used po010104.hex and su010804.hex

Would prefer not to have my email address displayed if possible.

Thnaks once again,
Jonathan Clark_
